Flipping & pitching

Featured Replies

I started fishing a year ago or so, so I'm still trying to learn new techniques and perfect them the best I can. Flipping and pitching seem to be very successful ways of getting into cover with startling the fish.

Has anyone come across a really good video online about this? I've seen some but felt maybe they where lacking some info. But what do I know. I've never done anything like this till today.

Flipping is really only for very close quarters and heavy cover, so it's pretty specific situations that you'd be flipping.

Pitching is a longer distant cast but still very accurate and quiet if done correctly. Pitching to targets is one of my favorite ways to fish.

I really enjoyed it. I typically don't catch more than 3 or 4 fish, but I ended up getting 6 total with pitching. Was really enjoyable.

I need a quarter ounce weight minimum for pitching and 5/16th preferred . Anything lighter doesn't work with my setup .

Once you get good at pitching you will seldom flip
