Hello from Rhode Island!

Featured Replies

Hey folks, stumbled upon this site while looking for canoe modification ideas. I just recently bought a Pelican canoe from Craigslist and have been spending the past couple weeks gearing it up for a fishing style canoe. I can't post pictures at work, so when I get home, I will create a thread showing my progress. It's my first canoe in my 41 years of living, so don't hate on a newb....lol.  I've been fishing probably since I was 8-9 years old as I was in cub scouts, and my father and our neighbor used to take me out on our neighbor's boat. I was away from it a long time, but now with kids of my own, I have really gotten back into it. That, and my friend bought a boat...lol.

So now that I have one of my own, I try and get out as much as possible. Of course, working on a trailer and modding the canoe have taken up longer time and money than anticipated, at least I will be good to go for the next few seasons. I am at work now, but I will post my photos in the canoe thread later on. Excited to learn from all of you, and perhaps teach a lesson or two of my own.

Welcome! :)

Welcome!  I grew up in Middletown back in the '50's.  Caught my first bass out of Green End Pond.

Welcome! I drive through Woonsocket twice a day everyday.

Nice to see some local chaps here.

I'm a very mediocre fisherman, but hope to get better at my bass game by learning from all of you masters.
