Who makes a braided line that aint "wire" like Power Pro or Fireline?

x2 on Gliss but I would only use it on spinning gear personally.

What about all the bad reviews on how it isn't very abrasion resistant? A good 75% of the reviews are negative. 

Gamma Torque spectra , after two-three trips it gets pretty soft

That's just because of it's tiny diameter.  20 pound gliss is equivalent in strength and diameter to about ten pound normal braid.  So if you normally run twenty pound braid, use about fourty pound gliss.  And if you use a mono/flouro leader, that eliminates the problem altogether.

OK guys I aint using no leader & I want something in the 20-25# range to be used in moderate to heavy cover on a bait caster.

almost all those reviews are positive, *** also gives it a positive review as well as European writers. The only negative I know of is knot strength because of how slippery it is but a double uni knot fixes that.

 

I'll dig for it in my line bin.  Supercast is a mono core, fused micro filament outer sleeve, that has an abrasion resistant coating that aids in knot strength.   It handles a lot like mono, though not exactly.  Other notable feature, it floats, and doesn't absorb water.  I like it for mats and topwater.  It's basically twice the strength of similar diameter mono, so 20# line is like 10# mono.  Not as drastic as true braids, but still features zero stretch.

The reviews on TW weren't very positive. Most mentioned broken line/ lost lures as the reason for the complaint. But I do see how the diameter would affect that. 

I rarely, if ever see a review on a store site that is relevant to my fishing, or even genuine.

The stiffness in Power Pro goes away after about 15 minutes of use.

Toray Super Braid (a.k.a. Power Finesse) or Daiwa Samurai Braid would be the first two I look for...

The softest braid I know of is Daiwa Samuari however the green dye runs like most other brands. I use and recommend Fins braid, polyurethane coated doesn't have a dye issue and very manageable line.

My next suggestion is Vicious No Fade Braid. That's the braid I use on my casting reels. I find it is very manageable and soft.

I got some of this stuff a year or so back but I messed something up and got a spool of line that was literally thinner than my hair.  It was so fine that with calloused fingers I honestly had trouble feeling it.  I spooled it on my UL spinning combo and hit the river.  It cast further than anything i have used before but that first wind know was a showstopper.  I was also so light and limp that I struggled to tie knots in it.  

 

Also the thread title made me think for a second that this brand was revived and was now making fishing gear;

 

I happen to like the 10lb fused Fireline on my spinning reels, but have used 20lb Spiderwire Ultra-cast happily on my baitcasting reels.  I don't want my PE line so soft it "fluffs" on the spool.  Stick with the white color...

Color bleeding aint a concern since the bass round here aint line shy.

Power pro. It's stiff for the first few casts. If you want a smoother braid look at suffix 832 or power pro super slick. I've had fraying issues with both those lines though. 

 

 

 

I've been using Sufix 832 advanced superline  featuring Gore performance fibers. 8 braided fibers 32 weaves per inch. I use 40lb same diameter as 10lb mono. It's some pretty tough and abrasion resistant braid. Casts really well on my Lew's spinning gear and cuts through weeds and grass pretty good too. Still have Power Pro Spectra on my other two spinning rods but will eventually change it to the Sufix 832.

Sunline fx2 is really limp right out of the box
