Hi all,

 When it comes to non lead bullet weights, is one better than the other? I need to pick some up and am not sure which way to go.

I prefer tungsten. More sensitive and smaller size to weight ratio than any other material. They're expensive, but worth it. Check out omfishingsinkers.com for the cheapest prices. Spend $40 and get free shipping. Usually arrives in 7-10 days

I use 1/8, 3/16 & 1/4oz painted brass bullet weights with tempered glass faceted beads; Brass n Glass. The only down side is the bullet weights are about 1 size larger then lead. Tungsten bullet weights are about 1 size smaller then lead for equal weight and I use 3/8 & 1/2 oz tungsten weights. The down side is tungsten weights can have sharp edges that cut line and difficult to paint colors, unless you buy them colored and expensive.

I like 3/8 oz tungsten for 90% of my pitching and flipping. You would think that a weight that heavy may not be ideal when flipping a stump or laydown but the fast fall will intice an aggressive bite more so than a light or weightless bait would

I'd use brass for the smaller sizes, and tungsten from about 1/4oz up. 

When I started using tungsten I haven't gone back.....awesome in size, sensitivity.

I may be the oddball here but I don't like tungsten in a lot of applications.  It can be a little too sensitive for me.  Especially in dropshotting where the smaller size can hang up easier and I get too much bottom feedback.  

I like brass, lead, and steel.  It's easier to match a steel 1/8 oz. weight to a 10" worm than a tiny sliver of a tungsten bullet.

I like tungsten more, but I have to go with the old glass n brass. Tungsten is just too pricey!

For 90% of my fishing I have switched to tungsten. Anything under 1/4oz I  use lead. Sometimes I will use brass for my C-rigs though
