Here's a trailer question... what connector is installed electric wise? my ol' beater has the 4 pin, am I gonna need an upgrade?

On the Heritage trailer in the showroom that I saw a couple of days ago, it had a 7-pin round connector that can directly plug into my 2012 Silverado trailer connector.

I'm with @J Francho on this. I'd call tracker direct. Something else that doesn't make sense is a 5 year warranty on the deck? There's a limited lifetime warranty on the Pro 160 deck which is pretty much the exact same boat. So why only a 5 year on the Heritage? Things aren't adding up.

Not sure how Tracker is but most boats you order are at least a 6 week wait, most are 9 plus.

From the Tracker Heritage web page, it says " Pressure-treated floor & decks w/limited lifetime warranty "

Loading the boat with some stuff and looking around.  I would advise everyone to check the top edge of the rear storage box.  Mine had a sharp edge to it.  I ran a file around and it's OK now.  I would hate for anyone to cut an arm open reaching in and out!

Right now I'm trying to figure out what to do with the stern light.  It's pretty tall and I have it in one of the rod holders on the side.  I don't see anywhere else to put it.  The bow light has a nice holder in the forward storage box.  They are both made from a very light weight aluminum.  I'm sure it wouldn't take much to bend them.

I ordered a spare tire.  Anyone mount theirs yet?  I'm trying to decide if I'm going to just bolt it on or try to use a U-bolt.

I put mine next to drivers seat, you can put it way up in the console.best place i found, only place i found that was long enough.

FISHAMAAN, I'm in the same situation with a flat 4 conductor on the truck. I also have a utility trailer with a flat 4 connector as well. I found what looks like a good compromise without having to rewire the truck and the utility trailer. This item on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/57672-4-Way-Dual-Output-Electrical-Adapter/dp/B001EP0HPI/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1519442653&sr=8-7&keywords=4-Way+Flat+To+7-Way+Round+Blade+Socket+Adapter) attaches to the truck's 4 pole connector, you then mount the 7 pole connector to the truck (mounting bracket is included), the 7 pole connector also includes another 4 pole connector. So with this adapter you can plug in either a 4 pole or 7 pole trailer plug.

I checked with Tracker factory service people and looked at the 170 in the showroom with brakes. It’s a standard 7pin connector that only uses 4 wires even with the brakes. The brakes are surge activated drums so there’s no backup lockout needed. I’m getting a plug from etrailer that has a 4/5 pin flat and a 7 pin round so I’m set no matter what I tow. It’s about $25.

yeah-- this is probably something I'm gonna have to find out before they trap me with their prices for a new 7-pin hookup. -hello amazon-

CURT 57184 4-Way Flat Electrical Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EOV424/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_JqU2BKgHIhO6q

That's what I used.  I hoped to get my boat this week.  I also used a curt mounting bracket.  The 4pin connect s to it matching pair.  I ground the ground wire on the frame.  If I ever need the 4 pin, I can e get it.

I read over the warranty a fee days ago.  While the deck is under warranty, it stated that you could void the warranty of the deck or sections of the deck where you make alterations.

I do not thing screwing items on the deck is an issue, unless you are screwing in some corrosive.  What I think is cutting hatches or anything that would allow the wood to be unprotected... Or just any varible that altered it from factory questions who is at fault do the damage.

With that said... I will be pulling my frame up in sections for see what I can get to.  I need to run some wires and plan to had a hatch or two.

Wood decks die mainly due to weathering.  Second I am more concert the frame and hull staying in compliance rathe than. The deck.  That's something we can replace much easier...

When you take off your deck to make hatches, make sure you take some photos. I'd like to add more storage too.

I just looked at that, and it looks like the place.  I would like to get it tucked up under the ledge for the warning plates.  That way it will be a little higher from my feet catching it.  I need to find a clip or something.  Thanks!

I will most likey take a video. But I will let you all know.

Today I stopped by the dealer to see the demo boat to take measurements. I guess they sold it to the highest bidder cause it was gone. Wonder who was lucky enough to get it even though we were all on order?  Good news is that mine shipped from factory and will be here next week.

While I was there, I saw a tracker boat with the console removed and wiring exposed.  I started tracing the wires, lol.  Thankfully they used screws to assemble the deck rather than rivets.  Looks like the deck job will be easier.

I am not going to put the hatches in just yet, but I am going to run some wires.  Replacing the stock fish finder and and installing another on the bow.  I will also run some accessories power for ports.

Addendum...

I talked to parts to see about ordering matching carpet and a spare moon cap tire.

One of the boats I saw at BPS had a tag on the plug for the trolling motor saying that there was a power line under that panel. It seemed like it was for mounting a depth finder up front. When someone mounts a depth finder on the bow let us know what you find.

Hmmm sounds fishy to me. Was this from Tracker or the dealer? I'm not sure how installing a fish finder or two would void a warranty especially structural.

I was told the deck warranty in the area of the do it myself work would be void. I was told 3yr warranty on the motor 5yrs on the deck lifetime on the hull. Unless they do all the installs

Well took my heritage home yesterday. Pretty excited.  A couple of notes of interest I hope helps others. I took the hub caps off. They told me they have a tendency to fly off down the road. Another issue Is the trailer lights having issues. He recommend before you sink the trailer silicone the crap out of them. As far as my modifications go the service manager at my BPS told me to my face. He doesn't care about adding things will not void anything as long as you aren't completely inept and screw it up. The fish finder is crap. I want to change it but use the current transducer. But since the hook 3 is a discontinued item the pins don't match up with the New ones I need to find out if Lawrance makes a connector from old to new. I hope this helps

Nice. These are always desirable options when I shell out a bunch of coin buying a new boat. And you didn't even need to pay extra....:lol-045:

Wow! Motors blowing oil, hub caps falling off, deck lids cutting you, fish finders junk, full of metal shavings, lights not working from factory, warranties getting voided... sounds like the typical (get what you pay for, right?) other than that, looks like a very cool boat, just makes you wonder, why the next comparable boat, is minimum $6,000 more?

I can buy a lot of hubcaps for $6,000.00 LOL

Alright, my first mod.  I moved the gas tank to the port side.  I want it on the same side I fill my truck :D.

Not only that, but for weight distribution as well. With the driver on the starboard side the gas tank should be on the port side. I like having equal amount of weight on the port and starboard side so that the boat rides level. If I suddenly have to make a sharp left or right turn at planing speed, I want the boat to behave the same for either turn.

Does the tank/fuel line connection have a quick disconnect? From the picture it looks like it doesn't. I'll probably put in a second tank if I don't get enough mileage from the one tank. In this case I'm debating whether to put in a quick disconnect on each tank or a 3-way valve, either way it's going to be a manual operation.

Yes there is a quick disconnect.  I'm probably going to spin my batteries also.  I want the covers for the trolling battery closer to the stern to inspect the water level easier.

You better get on one.  That would be great for you.  From what I hear, unless that store just bought some with anticipation for a hot sale, they are trying to fill orders rather than stock. Again, this store could have just ordered 4 boats.  What I am thinking is they received the boats in to inventory so they could sell them to the people who have orders for them.  They have to bring them into inventory.  The inventory checker probably does not filter out reserved boats and just reports inventory.

But do not assume anything, call and if it true, get your tail over there!!!  Please report back :)  Would love for you to get in on the action with no agonizing wait like we are enduring :}

Well I just pulled the plug and canceled the heritage I ordered. I was already a little leary about buying a boat with a Mercury motor, since they don't exactly have the best reputation but after reading about some quality control issues with the boat and speaking to a friend of mine who is a boat mechanic on the west coast, who told me That without a doubt mercury has the highest rate of warranty problems, and just because they have a 5 year warranty does not mean I want to use it, I decided to cancel.

BPS in Raleigh NC, had no problem returning my deposit and told me they were up to a 16 week wait for this boat and it will probably be even longer.

I truly hope this boat works out for all of you that are so excited about it but after having quite a few boats in my past I just choose to not take a chance on another one that sits at the shop more than it sits on the water.
