Not it sure it matters but my number is a little different (PA 171227) vs (PA 171221) not sure if this is a newer version, I guess I will just wait and see if I get recall letter

  • Hey it floats!  Almost a week and I finally got it out on the water.  I'm following the break-in instructions for the engine, so I couldn't open it up.  I got the first hour out of the way.  I went to

Got my boat today!  Already about to get it opened up to install some gear.  Everything is really accessible and there should be no issues at all.  My dealer gave two tracker shirts to us... Almost ga

I called Mercury today because I didn't get a recall letter and they looked up my serial number and told me that mine wasn't one of the defective ones. They go off of serial number if anyone else is worried. If I thought about it I would have asked between what numbers are affected and could have posted it on here, sorry. 920-929-5040 is the Mercury contact number. On a different note has anyone checked out the hubs on the trailer? They are super lube hubs which last a long time and are very easy to maintain.

this seems familiar to me Ratman didn't you have earlier posts discussing similar symptoms at least excessive noise from the lower unit.

Have always gotten a small sqeaul pulling it back from cruising speed. This was loud clank noise, same one I had heard when my brothers 9.9 had lower unit going bad.mine leaked water into gearcase, waiting for them to tear apart and send pictures to mercury. They want to know how water got in there.I know it was not my fault, I treat motor like a baby.

I remember my dealer telling me that back when I was buying my boat. I thought he mentioned 100,000 miles, but I could be wrong. Just lube them I guess.

Yep just lube them, if you pump the grease slowly you won't have to worry about blowing seals. Jack it up and spin the tire by hand while you pump in grease and the old grease starts to come out the front , once you see fresh grease start coming out your done. Of course after many many miles check the bearings. Its best to grease them after they are warm.

Thanks! You verified the video I watched. That's exactly what they said.

They have been telling me November 8th but I received this email today!! I placed my order on March 14th so I barely made the deadline

Lower unit had gear with broken tooth.Mercury decided to replace entire gearcase.Should be here and installed by mid to late next week.Took it in tuesday,so pretty impressed with the speed of warranty service. Can't wait to get back on water.

Congrats and I hope you have better luck with shipping time. For me Tracker Boats said the boat was shipped on March 10th. I just received a call from BPS this past Thursday the boat should be arriving early next week, about 10-1/2 weeks to ship!

Sounds like they are treating you right! Good news!

Power Pole Micro installed on the rear today. It has been super windy out in the delta so nothing to do but install upgrades and wait for the wind to die down. Used the VIP discount card to get 10% off the Power Pole Micro and the pole that is sold separate. It has a $100 rebate when you buy both that im about to get ready to send in as well. I dont have a picture of it but the pole is mounted along the starboard side when not in the power pole. Its totally out of the way when stowed away which is nice. I dont have to bridge the gap on the side with the rod holders.

?My second in command had one job. I will be sure to reprimand him. Nice catch

Went and picked up my unit yesterday, I got the emails with all my vin number info on Monday then finished with the loan officer on Wednesday.I called bass pro to let them know my loan processes was completed, they told me my boat was in and I could schedule a time to come in .The guy who helped me at the service bay was a nice enough guy but was not the most knowledgeable about this model boat.

Notice the hub caps are off, I had the dealer take them off and put them in the storage under the seat.

I had them check for recall notice on my motor, they told me currently there are no open issues.

Doesn't fit well in the garage, but its good enough to do what ever service I need to.

I have a done a couple minor changes added boat buckles & bow mounted fish finder. I'm pretty sure there was a post about installing boat buckles they are pretty self explanatory, instead of bending the tab on the tail light I just mounted mine on the other side of the bracket or what most would consider mounting them backwards. There was plenty of clearance to allow ratcheting,I got the smaller size buckles.

After removing the front panel and pulling the carpet back I was surprised to find the power lead was not there.

Maybe in earlier posts this was discussed but I didn't remember, I had to fish the lead out of the bottom of the bow.

it's going to take me a minute to get used to pulling & backing up a boat this big I'm not a total novice but I'm just extra cautious. so far I love it very happy with my boat cant wait to get on the water.

That's the electric plug holder. You plug the plug into it when you are done charging.

Nice feature, mine pro mariner did not come with that.  Called Tracker, I have a long wait ahead.  May not be in the water till next spring. :(

I was just looking at this the other night at BPS.  Which spike did you get?  I've been using an anchor and most of my depths so far have probably been over 8ft., so I'm not sure if a Power Pole would be worth it for me.  Report back when you have a chance to try it.  I am interested in how it goes anchoring with the stern into the wind and/or current :fish1:.

Don’t know why my last post did not show back in April, but I got unexpected call from BPS and am signing on Friday.  I am bringing the checklist, but is there anything else I need to think about?

Psyched I will be on the water in early summer!

In the California Delta due to the tidal action the bass are spawning in less than 5ft. Lakes may taper taper off in terms of depth relative to the spawning bed so if you wanted to make a cast you might need a deeper pole to give you some distance from the bed. Where I fish in the delta it is very shallow unless you go out into the main channels. The Pole I got was a 8.5ft pole. That must mean 7.5 and below for anchoring including penetration depth and the mounting height above the waterline. If you fish lakes it might not be worth the money.

I noticed while checking the wire bundle at the transom. There was a small diameter tube that is not connected to anything. It's not long enough to reach the motor or anything in the bildge. My guess is that like automotive manufactures they use one bundle for many different types of units to accommodate different options. May be this is for and oil pressure gage?

Apologies if this has been covered there has already been a lot of discussion with guys that got there boats sooner.

Fished in the BPS Open in folsom over the weekend in my Heritage.  I didn't have anyone to fish with me, since I decided to get in 2 days before.  There was a 14 year old fishing from the bank, his mom let him go with me.  We had a great time and caught our limit... Lots of small bass caught with the largest for us being under 4 lbs.  We didn't win, but we kept up with others in boats $$$... NOt that we were trying to keep up, I was playing my game and it paid off... but just not enough pounds.

It was fun...  The winner a heritage boat.  It would have been cool to win a heritage boat while fishing from a heritage boat.

This boat is now tournament tested.
