Who's an NRA member, how long have you been a member, and have you considered dropping it?  I used to be a member years ago but I stopped it after 2 years.  They still mail me and email me advertising and marketing items trying to lure me back.  Just my opinion, but the NRA seems a little extreme at times.  Maybe they have to be, I don't know.  I'm a supporter of the 2nd amendment and own several firearms myself, so don't get me wrong.  Share your thoughts.

Ive been a member for 7 years or so. I do not always agree with their decisions or stands, but I believe they are gun owners biggest voice in DC.

I’ve been a lifetime member since I turned 18.

I think they’re almost as bad as the opposition with their fear mongering. Don’t get me wrong, the attack on out 2A rights is very real, and relentless. But some of what they put out there is just to get people in a frenzy.

With that being said, they’re the best we have protecting our right. I haven’t always agreed with their plan of action, but I like to think they do the best they can with what they’re given.

I also don’t rely solely on the NRA. I have my reps “favorited” in my contacts. ?

Not a member, but I'm about to be.  Feel they're one of the very few voices the responsible firearm owner has.

I live in a small college town and wore my NRA cover and EGA to breakfast this morning,   I think they had to draw straws to see who had to serve me ?

Yep. Have been for around 7 years. I plan to "life up" at some point.

When I brought my daughter to the Doctor for the first time they had a form that asked if there were firearms in the house. Told my wife to leave it blank, none of their business. When we were leaving I realized we both had NRA hoodies on. LOL

I joined about 5 years ago and I plan to keep current for now, but I did have to put my name on the do not solicit list, good grief they mail a lot of junk  I guess I’m in the same camp as most here, I don’t agree with everything they do, but 2A folks don’t have very many friends these days it seems.

I am a long time member.

agree with you on the soliciting.  Constant e-mail, phone and snail mail. Still better than the alternative.

I think 2A folks have a lot more friends than they realize. right now a lot of people don't want to admit being a member, because of the current public shaming.

I was a member. It expired last month and I have no intention of reupping. It simply stopped being about the 2A and more a political issue. I'm a big 2A supporter, carry a Taurus PT111G2 in my truck, but they lose me when they trot folks like Dana Loesch out there spewing vitriol and hate like she did. That's my stand without getting political.

For me, the NRA is a lot like the Republican party currently.  They do a lot of things that bother me and I don't really like, but in the end, they're the closest thing I have to actually sharing my opinions.

While I agree in what they stand for as an organization, I sometimes don't agree with their actions.  I haven't been a member for a couple of years.

I am an NRA Endowment Life Member.  An annual member since the 1980s, I stepped up to Life membership four years ago.  Speaking from direct experience, I would recommend that anyone seeking membership in NRA should remain on an annual membership.  As an annual member, the NRA has to uphold their end of the bargain to get you to renew.  As a Life Member, they just forget about you _except_ for incessant requests for you to advance to the next tier of Life Membership and to send money to their Institute for Legislative Action.  Other than fundraising the only thing they do really well is their excellent magazine "American Rifleman", which I received for decades until I became a Life Member -- then it stopped and I haven't been able to find anyone at HQ that has the influence to make my subscription active again.  It's been four years!  Do yourself a favor, stay at the annual membership level.
