Anyone like prop Topwater? There are many available.Best for me has been the Smithwick Devils Horse. These lures have a reputation for bringing in big fish, and its true. Bass hit these baits HARD!! What are some propbaits that you guys like to fish?

Whopper Plopper.

Full disclosure. . .never have really fished any. But, I am planning on using some this year. I have bought 2 whopper ploppers, 1 XPS double down plopper, and the new Booyah Toadrunner. We'll see how it goes!

Always had better success with rear prop lures like Smithwick Buck n Brawl and Pa Scooter because they tend to have better action, so take a look rear prop lures.

Tom

PS, Yo-Zuri 3DB bone should be good.

Heddon Torpedo

I have bought some of the new River2sea Lane Changers (think a modern day Devil's Horse). They look sweet and I can't wait to try them out this season!!!

I like the H2O Slush Minnow and used to fish a Devil's Horse pretty often. The new Lane Changer from R2S is on my radar but haven't bought one yet. The Yo-Zuri 3DB Prop is a great bait with a very unique sound that the fish seem to love/hate.

I don't consider the Whopper Plopper type baits a prop bait because I don't fish them like a prop bait.

The only prop tail jerkbait that I know of still in production  is the Bagleys Bang O Lure  . Mine is a Bomber . I have several new ones , that I stocked up on when they hit the clearance bins . My biggest 6 fish stringer ever was caught on one .

Heddon Torpedo, Tiny Torpedo, Smithwick Devil's Horse, and Yozuri 3DB Prop are all in my box.  I STILL haven't bought a Whopper Plopper yet!   This year....

Tight lines,

Bob

I've been using the x-rap prop bait for many years.. it's a very good "big bite" topwater bait that I've had very good luck with on hot sunny days. Bigger fish seem to be attracted to it. Prop bait topwaters SEEM to be a little more effective for me in a little bit of wind. It can be a decent shallow water 'search bait' when there's a little breeze.

After reading a few of bluebassers comments on these (and finding a sweet deal on walmarts website of all places) I tried these out last year and they are awesome!! I fish them on a steady retrieve and twitching them around cover and the smallmouth in my river HATE them.
