Fl Vacation Bassin

Featured Replies

Here's a bunch of peas and largies I've been chasing all over Central Fl and a little south. It's been ages since I caught these drag peelin peacocks. Bass ranged from 3lbs up to the 9lb pig I caught today!

I was just about to type that! Only problem I would encounter is a bass of that size would turn any of my spinny poles into splinters!! Looks like a fun vacation with some awesome fish

It was one heck of a battle to get the 9lber in from the smaller pond on the two piece cheapo spinning rod I bought due to my travel rod getting messed up during transit. That medium action rod was bent up pretty good during the fight. With 50lb braid I knew the line wouldn't fail. I was hoping for a 10 on that frog . That would have been an interesting deal trying to get her in thru all the vegetation on that flimsy rod.

Great looking fish! That's a big ol' bullhead too.

I’m going to Florida on my next vacation. Incredible!

Outstanding Fish!  I live in Florida and I am a little jealous.  Looks like you found a great spot.

Went out hunting for more peacocks and anything else that wanted to play. First fish was a Midas Cichlid. Second a few Mayan Cichlids. A few largemouth mixed in and the rest were peas. One tore the front treble hook off but the same bait was still catching them just with the rear hooks. Caught a bunch on a swimbait including one over 5lbs and missed one in the 6-7 class as he didn't eat the bait enough before I yanked. He came back for it 5 minutes later and missed him again. I would have traded all the peas on this trip for that big dude. Those fish pull hard and don't stop.
