bassmaster classic locations

Featured Replies

When it comes to the Bassmaster Classic, how do they determine what lakes/locations they go to?

I haven't followed the classic for a number of years, but I hear Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas being the big ones.  Are these the only states they go to for this event?

I'd certainly like to attend the event one year, this year would have been perfect due to location, but it didn't work out as I'd hoped.  Knoxville is only 4 hours away.  So looking forward to others in the future in my neck of the midwest.

Late winter tournaments have to be held somewhere where the water isn't going to be frozen.

I have a feeling they will be back to Knoxville soon.  The location has great facilities,  an interesting fishery,  and Knoxville is the home of BASS's parent company.

Everyone seems to be enjoying the heck out of it. Even the guys getting skunked are saying they had a good time. Fort loudon isn't the best lake on the TN river for monster bass but Knoxville seems to set up well for such an event. It would be neat to have one in Chattanooga too, someone might bring in 40 lb one day.....

Huh, you're right -- they've never held one at Chick, have they. Does Chattanooga have the facilities to support the event?

Sad Fact: Knoxville is the only major urban area of Tennessee I've never been to.

Never have I gone to any of these events.  How does the MLF compare to the Bassmaster Classic?  I can't imagine it gets any bigger than the Classic.

I think it's in Dayton, TN. Atleast, Dayton has it listed on their website.

Yes, Dayton is much more friendly to tournament fishing than Chattanooga. It’s a tiny town that loves the economic stimulus of big tournament. Chattanooga, a much bigger city just a little further downstream, seems more interested in biking and triathlon type events. There’s nothing to do in Dayton but fish haha

I've never been to Dayton or Chickamauga but it's definitely on my list. I'm about 6 hours away.
