Trying to find specific fishing tv show

Featured Replies

I can't find this show anywhere. I actually remember it being kind of bad, but I'd like to look into the show again. So basically it was a show/mini series, I forget which network it was on. The episode I remember two guys carved a path through some brush/marsh from a river to a separated pond. So there was a river surrounded by marsh and a few hundred yards into the marsh was a pond. I remember this being in the south west United States. They weed whacked and used chainsaws to make a path for their boat and then fished this pristine never before fished pond with huge bass. The whole premise was they were going to fish where nobody had fished before by any means. I remember them really making it seem "epic" and hyping it up in commercials and such. It was on a few years ago, I forget how many. Between 3-6 years maybe? I think they may have canceled it because it was kind of poorly made. Any ideas?

Not sure what show you are talking about, but you can watch The Hunt for Monster Bass with Ott DeFoe which has what seems like the same basic idea. Just be sure to check your pulse every once in a while. Ott seems like a GREAT guy, but his voice and that music make me sleepy.

Larry Dahlberg Hunt for Big Fish?

Could be this.  It may seem a little cheezy, but Larry pays for all the production himself.

Pretty sure it was called Dirty Missions.

You might be correct. I think it lasted a few episodes and was cancelled.

I just went and looked, I remembered DVRing a few episodes. I was about 2 guys in a tin boat that were hacking their way though the tulies to get into remote backwaters to fish. It was based somewhere on the lower Colorado River basin.

This is the show and it was terrible! I watched an episode or 2 and 95% of the show was these two dudes trying to cut their way through thick vegetation, dragging a boat with bad music playing. The editing was terrible and there wasn't much fishing.

Yep it was Dirty Missions. Thanks guys. It was actually a pretty bad show but it had a cool concept that could have been done better. I randomly thought of the show and tried to think of it all week.

Just watched the pilot episode. Ouch.. What a boring show.

30 minutes of guys cutting mud, brush, and cattails and 5 minutes of a montage of them catching fish. No wonder it got cancelled. Cool concept no doubt, but there's no entertainment value in that unless you pack 5 episodes of fishing into one show.

It was a really a great concept, everyone dreams of finding that hidden honey hole, but it was very poorly executed.
