I didn't know there was 114 bass in Illinois ?   Joking aside, penalties for fish and game violations are a joke. They need to figure the value of each fish up if it was raised in a hatchery

It's crap like this that gets folks like PETA all riled up.   Then they protest all fishing with things like "oh the humanity".  They killing all those fish, yadda-yadda.   Those guys should

Does Illinois have reciprocity rules with other states?  In some states, you lose lose the right to a license, and you lose them in 1/3 of the country.

IL DNR is over worked and under funded. Anything else I say will turn this political.

The Eastern European and Asian immigrants are breaking the laws on a daily basis. Many of them are keeping the fish and serving them in their restaurants. Sounds like the guys the OP is referring to are just a bunch of jagloads

I hope they burn their ass!

They need to be put in jail and lose their equipment.

Sad thing is loss of license wont stop the they will just on poaching.

I keep Bass. But I refuse to clean 100.

I've kept 100+ warmouth, legal limit was 50 a piece. That many Bass is ridiculous

So you also don't see an issue with breaking the law? Why would you keep double what was legal?

Should've specified, 3 people in the boat kept over 100*

And no don't agree with breaking the law. But also don't think the world will end either because people keep Bass. Just keep the legal amount.

Those guys just have no remorse.

One of those 114 bass could have been a world/state record if she lived to the fullest. but she was taken too early :(

EDIT: I was being sarcastic about the "world record" but you guys get my drift.

Are you saying IL is corrupt? B)

I hopped on Google to read the articles on it. All the headlines are stating they were arrested, but at the end of the articles it says,"The subjects were also issued various warnings and face potential civil charges for the restitution of the fish. The value of the bass is $456 according to statute." This is a joke. It's only going to promote more people to do this. Doing the math, that's $4 per bass. Unbelievable. I get that the DNR does not have very good funding, but situations like THIS is where they should be making all their money. Instead, these 4 morons get a slap on the wrist and off they go to the next body of water...

They would rather make their money off the people that follow the rules and pay for license and registration

They had to have been in and out of jail in no time, if they even ended up there at all. They got to keep the fish and one of the guys said they cooked them up all night long.

I think Ontario is that way too.  Really puts the religion in compliance.

It's just so sickening hearing about this stuff happening so close to home, too.

Just from the post he put on that page it looks like he's just another white trash dude who will continue to do this.

Here in Ontario it can be $10k fines, seizure of boat, vehicle, all fishing equipment, and lifetime ban of fishing license.

Should be that way everywhere in my opinion. People should respect the laws and regulations put in place to protect our resources and wildlife.

Insane. Who actually eats bass anyway? Just wow. Recently we had a flood on my local lake, the water receded some and lying thier in the parking lot was 20 bass all skinned in a pile and thrown thier to rot where everyone walks and drives. Smh atleast throw them OUT into the lake instead of building a dead fish pile in the parking lot. Smh again. Plus the creek limit is only 2 bass. There must have been atleast 10 people there. (DOUBT IT) d**n poachers

Sounds like the answer to your question is a lot of people eat bass, myself included. They are delicious. Poaching is bad but catching and eating bass is my favorite thing in the world
