So I was fishing keitechs on a exposed hook and would catch around 5 fish per bait before they rip or fall off. Now I heard of super glueing them but never have.  If you super glue the bait to the hook doesn’t it just rip apart everywhere else then and leave goop of plastic and stuff on your hook ? Like how do you get the bait completely off and eventually put a new one on if it’s been glued on? Does it come off clean .. some help please and thank you 

Mend-It is a super glue for soft plastics that can be used to repair swimbaits.like Keitech. If you super glue the soft plastic. To a hook or jig it will leave a glob of plastic on the hook, better off removing the swimmer and glue it and use it later.

All my keitech get fixed with mendit. They just get tossed in a container or bag, to fix when i get back home.

After  the plastic wears out  it is easily removed .There will be some super glue residue left that can be scraped off with a knife . I use Loctite Gel .

Super Glue on knots, only. Mainly from braid to fluorocarbon.

 

Use Mend-It or Soft Bait Glue on your plastics.

If you're getting 5 fish per bait with a Keitech you're doing pretty good. 

Super glueing Keitechs to your hook can work against you. I get more tail bite-offs when I do it.

When I use super glue the super glue tip almost always get locked up quickly and frustrates me.  Is one brand of glue better then another, and are you able to use it week after week?

I use the loctite longneck bottle super glue. It has a special lid that does not clog. I have a 1/2 bottle that has been in my boat for a year. it gets used a couple times a week. I get it at the local walmart. here is a link to their website. they are currently out of stock online, but the stores should have it.

Loctite gel control. It comes out thicker easier to use. Super handy for glueing the heads of TRD worms and Keitechs to the jigheads.

+1 ... The only super glue to use in my opinion is "Loctite Super Glue Gel"... Mendit works as suggested but the stuff is volatile in my experience with evaporation or becoming a solid with exposure to air . *I like the suggestion to throw ripped Keitechs in a bag then set aside an hour or so to mend a whole bunch at one time with Mendit .

I waited decades to try senko type baits. I found out one bait per fish, now I tried different clones of senko. Luckily they lasted longer. If the bite was frenzy on even the short broken 2”/3” pieces worked.

 

im worried about these toxic glues with fish. Do they offer a safe glue for thevfish too?

Super glue is fairly non-toxic, the only danger to skin is if it cures rapidly which might cause heat burns. They use it in surgeries for closing small wounds instead of stitches.

Can it be any more harmful to the fish than the hook that is used to impale it, rip its lips, tear its gills, swallowed down the gullet.
