Hi All,  I just joined the forum having taken up bass fishing again after a 30 year break.  When I lived in Canada I used to fish the St Lawrence river system, in particular the Long Sault provincial park waterways in eastern Ontario and had a lot of success fishing for both smallies and large mouths.  I then moved out west to BC and tried to get into trout and salmon fishing as well as jetty saltwater fishing but I guess that I just wasn't really into it.  Later I got transferred down to Portland, OR where I have lived for 30 years until my recent retirement.  I have only just researched bass options in my area and was surprised to discover that we have some excellent waterways here in Oregon, notably Hagg Lake, the Willamette river backwaters and the Columbia river sloughs.  I have only just put my kit together and ironically my first outings will not be in Oregon but in the Missoula valley in Montana when we visit my wife's family for several days next week.

So if any of you know of some bass fishing spots in the Hamilton area please let me know. I understand that there some private pools that I might be able to secure access to and also the Bitteroot river in the Stevensville area has some bass fishing in its backwaters.
