Soft Plastics-Petroleum Smell

Featured Replies

I’ve noticed this smell on some old baits. Otherwise, they’re fine. Will they still be good if I use a scent on them?

A topical artificial scent should negate any smell if none were added when produced.

A lot of folks think WD-40 is a cure all.

How do you know the bass don't like the smell of plastisol?

Try em 1st then add a scent you like.

I tend to think with things like WD-40 it’s not just the smell, the rainbow oil trail is a definite attractant, because when bait get bit in half by toothy fish, it makes an oil slick that looks like WD-40, IMO, that attracts fish.
