On Sunday, it was 42 degrees and windy in southern NY.  Not ideal conditions at all.  But the corona-cabin fever drove me out to fish.  To my surprise, my bored 12 yr old daughter put her phone down and wanted to join; no small gesture as she knew it would be a 90 min drive each way.  

 

First cast out of the gate, she caught a hefty pickerel on a ribbon tail.   After a couple hours, we jerkbait-ed and cranked our way to a nice list....6 LM bass, 2 pickerel, 2 perch.  

 

A great surprise of a day....

When my son was 12 he couldn’t get in enough fishing. But now at 14 when I tell him we’re going fishing you would think I grounded him for a week.

He'll be back.   You built the base.  He'll be back at 18 and he'll be there to help you into a john boat when your 80.
