Rod Regret?

Gen 1 Villain 7'6" MHF.  I hardly ever get to handle a rod first.  This rod has been my only regret so far.

7'-1" M XF E6X

Nothing wrong with the rod.  I bought it with the intention of using it as a finesse rod paired with a Daiwa SV 105.  It absolutely launches a ned rig.  However, I quickly learned that the ned rig isn't for me and doesn't fit my style of fishing.  I can't seem to find another presentation that I enjoy fishing that suits this rod better than others in my collection.

Forgot one, maybe two...  The St. Croix Truimph.  Granted it was $60 but it was not a good rod.  Next, an All Star rod (can't remember the model).  It snapped at the tip and cracked at the bottom.   Might have been user error but it came highly recommend.  It never felt right in hand and it felt cheaply made.

Fenwick Elite Tech spinnerbait rod.  I gave it to a young man who was just starting out.

Lamiglas Certified Pro 806 Skeet Reese model.   Waaaay too heavy.  The silver lining was it was this rod that got me searching for a new flippin stick and I picked up a Dobyns.  So it goes.

Yes, a 7' ML/F Abu Villain 2.0.  I bought it after a 6'10" version of the same sank to the bottom of Ponkapog pond.  I really didn't think the extra 2" would be much different and I couldn't have been more wrong.  I use it as a Ned rig and drop shot rod.

C'est la vie.

A 6ft Medium Heavy Spider Cast casting rod with a Spidercast Baitcaster to match, I mowed a million yards to save up for that setup because Roland Martin touted it as the best ever, I was a kid and didn't know any better, what a piece of Junk!
