St. Croix Avid Pearl

Featured Replies

Have any of you guys used, or know someone whose used it? It is a woman’s specific rod by St. Croix, and looks pretty cool tbh!
There are literally no reviews on it anywhere, so if you have any info on this pink rod, please tell!

No experience here, but I imagine any characteristics of a specific Avid blank would be the same as a corresponding Avid Pearl blank, so you could just read up on the Avid you're considering.

Noooo, the colour is too sharp for the fish, they can see you are trying to hook their mouth under the water.

Just kidding!!! I don't think they care.

I remembering seeing these years ago and thought it was same rod as the Avid, only with different colors.  I would reach out to St. Croix just to be sure.  They have great customer service.  Just give them a call.

My wife has one, I bought it and the matching Quantum Energy PT reel for a Valentine's Day present while we were either dating or just married. It's basically an Avid with a thinner handle to fit in smaller hands. My wife loves it and has caught tons of fish on it.

Thanks for the replies! I wasn’t really interested in it at first glance, but after hearing it had thinner/smaller grips it caught my attention. My hands are pretty small, but I’ve been using “regular” rods for ever and it hasn’t ever bothered me.

Anyways, I’ll probably buy a non-pink avid if I’m looking for another rod.

If you're still interested, Extreme Philly Fishing on Youtube has the rod and he's used it for a number of years. Just look for his older videos and you'll see it in use.

If that fits your hands good and the action is what you are after go for it. I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d fish with a white rod and reel set ups. Well I fish with two of them now. They get a lot of use. They work perfectly how I’m using them. If it feels good go for it. That means a lot in itself.
