Storage Solution for Paddle Tail Swim Bait Blister Packs

Featured Replies

I know this is a common problem because I have been researching it. Has anyone found a good way to store blister packs of Kietechs and their clones? Ideally, a plastic tote but the ones I have found never seem to be the right dimensions to accommodate the packaging.

I put them in plano boxes. Never seem to have a problem with them warping or anything negative.  Been doing it for a few years.

I wanted to avoid that if possible. Just want to throw the packs in a reasonable container and keep it in the bait compartment with everything else. The 20ish gallon ziplock bag I'm using doesn't work and I hate it.

20 gl. bag...that's a big bag.

I don't if it's actually 20 gallons but it is a big bag.

I've been using these:

https://www.flambeauoutdoors.com/terminal-tackle-file-satchel.aspx

Sometimes I have to take a scissors and cut back the top or side margins of a blister pack to get it to fit, but I can generally get most of the Keitch, Rage, Biospawn, and other blistered paddletails I use in the 3"-5" size classes in there.

Yes, that's what I was looking for. I'm also Keitech and Exoswim.

I'll just ignore the price because I'm desperate. How many packs do you get in there?

It's not super-efficient use of space, but in each divided well, about 4 or 5 packs.  They store other awkwardly-sized odds and ends pretty well also, though.  I've got a few of the boxes, but pretty sure I paid a lot less than the price listed on the site.

Oh... only 4 or 5? Hmmm.... I carry 30 around packs in the boat so that doesn't seem cost efficient.

At that price, I would be more likely to buy an FDM 3D printer and just make a custom box.

Yeah, if you're going for efficient storage for the boat, I'm not sure there's a clear solution to this other than just taking them out of the blisters and shoving them in a bag.

I'm frankly shocked that someone doesn't make a tackle storage solution for this. Maybe I need to get a sheet of ABS onto the table saw....

Those same containers can be had for alot less. Go to hobby lobby. they have the same thing but different company. Use a 40% off coupon off their app. less than 10.00 apiece. And at 30 packs youll need 2. Just tryin to find a open hobby lobby :)

Right? Walking around stores with a blister of Keitechs would be my normal approach to this problem. I was hoping someone had a part number for a container that works.

Take a look at Easy View Tackle Systems. The clip bars mount on the inside of the boat storage locker lids. I have used these for over a decade and the work great.

I'm convinced there is no perfect solution, I've tried half a dozen ways and I'm not happy with any of them.

The core reason why is that the packages don't stack. There's no way where the baits "interlock" to save space. Also, IMO there is far too much excess sticking out on the top. I understand they need real estate for hanging it on shelves and to advertise details and the name, but it's such a pain and waste of space when trying to organize them.

That's about where I am. It seems like every year I try something new and every spring I am still looking for a good way to do it.

Just got a few of these in the mail the other day. Pretty convenient, perfect size for Keitech's.

I don't know which has been more of a pain in my rear, soft plastic or terminal storage. But I finally have a terminal system I like, and I think these bags are my answer to plastics, as long as they hold up. They seem pretty sturdy, so we'll see.

So I must have misunderstood your post regarding how many fit in these. By trimming the tops off, I got 19 blisters in one. Rereading it, I see you meant 4-5 per well! Makes more sense now. I'll need a second tub but this will surely work for this year.
