I've never really used any fancy worms just normal injection molded mass market stuff... Berkley zoom etc. Do any of you guys use hand pours? What are some favorite brands and colors? Not sure if roboworms are hand pours but for the sake of this lets leave those out..I'm aware of there magic! Just looking to up my worm game some this summer and need a few ideas

Not sure if there are any mass produced hand poured worms. Back in the 80's, I bought hand pours from Don Iovino, Great worms, caught a ton of bass on them.

To me, and I don't research worms much, but the Roboworms come pretty close, as do some other brands that I can't think of right now..Senior moment here..?

I’ve used a lot of ‘Upton’s 8” Straight-Tail Worms’, which are true handpours.

“Roboworms” are robot-poured worms, which are cheaper than Uptons with similar buoyancy & action.

I use Danny Joe's some for shaky head and wacky rig also in merthiolate  as a trick worm alternative.

In my 20's I whittled out a worm and made a 2 section plaster of paris mold . Melted my saved worms then poured . The worms were wide and flat kind of fluke shaped with a thick hook tail . The problem I had was there was always an air bubble in the nose . I still have that mold and if I could figure out how to stop the air bubble from forming , I'd pour some more . They worked but all worms work . I think they would go through the chara algae as  a top water well .

Years ago, a guy I worked with bought some things to pour his own worms. He gave me some to check out, and, as I remember I didn't catch any more fish on them than off the shelf worms. Good handpours cost more. With all the plastics we have now, I probably won't buy any. I know this is not what your looking for, but Roboworms are very good, and about the closest thing to a handpour that I use. I've caught a lot of numbers of bass on those, mostly fishing with a split shot rig. But, a good handpour might work good for you. I'd check out Don Iovinos products. Always heard good things about them.

I like the roboworms the little I have used them. May have to check out the iovino baits they get mentioned often. Uptons too.

What iovino and Upton colors would you guys recomend ?
