BPT- Heavy Hitters

Featured Replies

Anybody watching this?

Ehler has one for 8lb 6oz, so far that's the biggest and leading the $100,000 Big Bass payout.

I didn't see any over the weekend ... cuz I was fishing.

I watched yesterday and thanks to your post turned it on today, but I though Mark Rose caught a 9#er yesterday. Or are they doing $100k big fish per group?

Yep, you are correct.

Mark Rose with a 9lb2oz bass yesterday, so he's in the big bass lead.

I thought I heard them say on todays broadcast that Ehler had the biggest.

I thought it was $25K BB for Group A, $25K BB for group B and then $25K for the qualifying round and $25K for the championship round.

I think it is $25,000 for big bass each qualifying. $50,000 for big bass in knockout round. I know for sure today I heard them say $100,000 for biggest fish in championship round and $100,000 for championship round winner.   Also 3 pound minimum in championship round.  The extra stuff for this tournament really makes it exciting.  Mark Rose's 9 lber on spinning gear was fantastic.

The only tweak I’d have made is to allow the group winners who automatically qualify for the championship to fish the knockout round and compete for big bass that day. Or better yet do away with the auto bid for this tournament

Instead of trying to decipher what JT and Marty were trying to explain- heres the payouts

Yep Ehler won $25K for his 8.6 for group A and Mark Rose won $25K for his 9.2 for group B.
Zack Birge and Skeet Reese won $4K for winning each of the groups they won.

All the anglers are guaranteed at least $4K for competing.
Tomorrow's Knockout round (top 40 anglers (20 from each group)) is $50K for biggest bass and on Friday, the championship round, big bass is $100K.

I sure do wish Birge and Skeet would get to fish for the chance at BB. I assume they don't, unless they changed it?

They could just go out and throw giant swimbaits since they know they are in the championship. I guess they think that could be an unfair advantage but I think it is unfair to deprive them of a chance at $50K.

They have the option to fish it. If they do, they aren't guaranteed a trip to championship.  Both said no way. They will take the guaranteed $7,000 with a  shot at $200,000.

Yes they declined fishing the Knockout round because if they didn’t make the top 10 they didn’t make the championship. Smart move on their part. They have a chance at $100K for big fish AND the $100K grand prize for a potential $200K payout compared to a “possible” $50K lucky fish price. They made the right choice.

Thanks! I haven't had the chance to catch any of the coverage.

Jeff Kriet making a run at it today with an 8-02. KVD has his second 7-10 of the tourney.

You can tell that dude loves to fish.

Him and his wife have won a few

Not only talented, he puts in the work to constantly learn and improve.

I hate that stupid flat billed hat though, way more than I should probably

I like the rule changes this year and all the bonuses for this event.  All the BPT events have been exciting this year.  I love Jordan's reaction when that fish jumped.

Guys at the bottom racing to the top and

anglers up at the top are falling and falling and falling . . .
