Hello everybody! I’d like to hear your opinions on Seagaur Abrazx as a mainline for jigs/t rigs.

I’m a big fan of the seagaur 20 lb flippin fluro, the limpness and sensitivity compares to that of tatsu. Never used abrazx, heard good things though.

I haven't used Abrazx for several years. A lot of people like it but it didn't work for me. I used 12# for Texas rigs and jigs and it broke several times on hooksets or broke too easy when getting hung up. I switched to Sunline and the problems stopped. I would use mono before I would go back to Abrazx.

maybe you just got a bad spool? What weight t rigs and jigs were you using with 12lb test?

Log Catcher I also think you might have gotten a bad spool. i have used 12# Abrazx for bottom fishing for several years & never had a issue.

Good stuff.  It's not as soft as Invizx but it will handle rocks and tough vegetation pretty well.  It will have more memory but it will hold up pretty well.  I like in 15lb for jigs but 12lb for T-rigged soft plastic.

With that said, I like this line as leader with braid more than anything.

Abrasx is great line. I use it down to 8lb on spinning gear even.

I use it in 12# on my jig rod and couldn't be more happy. I use Sniper for most setups but would gladly use Abrazx if I had more spools lying around.

I was using Texas rigs with 1/8 ounce sinkers. Jigs were 3/8 and 1/2 ounce plus the trailer. Maybe close to 3/4 ounce. I did try more than one spool of Abrazx and they were bought at the same place. Maybe they had a bad run of it. We will never know now.

I use 10lb for cranking and digging into the bottom , I am very happy with it for that application.

17 lb is what i use for texas rigs and jigs. cast nice.

I got a spool of sniper too to spool on my finesse jig rod and the 15# abrazx to spool on my rod for big t rigs

Why use Abrazx vs the other Seagar types? Really confuses the choices for flurocarbon (for me personally) when a brand has so many variations.  For reference I use and love Invisx on my spinning reels and also have used Red Label on various baitcasting setups.

I think more than anything it's personal preference. Each line has different characteristics so it becomes what you like in a line personally.
