...Sometimes happens when you are fishing with a Medium-Light spinning rod and 8 lb line... and you forget the net in the truck... And then this happens -

I was only the “Net-Man” on this one, but that turned into a larger role than I ever thought since there was no net ?.

The full episode of this multi-species show will air on Lake Commandos this January on the Outdoor Channel.

Nice catch. I learned many years ago that a good net is worth its weight in gold. Have landed many big fish without a net but I prefer having a net since it increases the chances of landing a big fish.

Totally agree, this one I had to bear hug and barrel-roll him into the boat before the gator tail came back to life and smacked us all overboard!

Don't believe a net would have done you much good with that one, a cradle maybe.

Possibly, I would liked to have at least given it a try though..!

I hear you. I've got the Frabill Trophy Haul Predator with a 27x30 inch hoop and the lift assist handle on the yoke. Haven't had any big test for it but I know a 15lb flathead fit in it with plenty of room to spare.

Very cool! And congrats on getting to fish with Steve Pennaz on Lake Commandos again. Looking forward to the episode next year.
