Kids battery operated cars

Was thinking of getting my 3yo grandson a battery car for his birthday. My daughter said to get him the Jurassic park jeep. Well, I'm not dropping $500 on a car for him. Any recommendations on a car $200 or less?

You mean like the power wheels things they actually sit in and drive? We got our boys a UTV type one that was on sale during black Friday for around $200.

I can't remember how much it was but years ago my son had a police car model complete with lights and siren. For Halloween he dressed as a police officer and had a little notepad with him. After receiving candy at a house he would say, "I'm sorry but I have to give you a ticket" and would tear out a page with a thank you note that he wrote on it.

Come on grandpa.  Buy the boy a Tesla.?

Do they make a version of the car from "up in smoke"?

We got our son a Power Wheels 4-wheeler. I don’t remember how much it was either because that was several years ago.

Start small, because the toys only get bigger and more expensive as they get older. Our son’s Power Wheels 4-wheeler has now turned into a real 4-wheeler. ?

We bought our grandson one of the 6 volt models for his 2nd birthday (they only go about 2.5MPH vs. the 12 volt models that go 5MPH).  That was fine for last year but he's already wanting to go faster so we found a local guy who picks up used ones and restores them.  He had a Power Wheels Hot Wheels that looked brand new and we were able to pick it up for $125.00.  Not everybody has a local guy like that.  I did see some off name brands on Amazon in the $250 - $290 range but I'm not sure how good they would be.

Walmart has a Power Wheels (the best known brand) Jeep on their website right now for $279.

After watching my six year old get airborne over a tree stump repeatedly I’m impressed with the durability of the power wheels, I’d be leery of off brand options holding up to the abuse kids are going to subject it to.
