I was doing some research on jig skirts and what exactly they do for a jig and ran into an interesting post by WRB back in 2012. He asked people their opinion of the purpose of jig skirts and then offered his own. He also listed a history of jig skirts and said that hair or rubber skirts have worked best for him. Others also said elsewhere that today’s silicone skirts are merely eye catchers, not true fish catchers. What’s your opinion on this? But most of all, do y’all know good, weedless hair or rubber jigs I can try? I’m truly interested. Does Siebert make something like this by chance? I don’t have the resources to make my own jigs where I’m at, let alone the knowledge to do so. Thanks for reading and hope everyone’s well. 

Mostly a cold water or super high pressure deal for me as far the rubber or hair jigs.  Mike does make jigs that are mix of rubber and silicone.   Northstar Customs makes a silicone/hair hybrid.  I still have a bunch of them.   

8 years ago we could still buy pork rind trailers that complement hair jigs. Time hasn't been kind to pork trialers, Super Pork is gone Uncle Josh no longer offer them. 

Hair has become craft hair with a few exceptions for deep ledge fishing using Dr jigs combing craft hair and feathers.

Skinny Bear still makes living rubber jigs. Northstar makes and Siebert make custom jigs.

The problem is few people know how to tie bucktail hair properly for LMB jigs. The tight tied 1/8 oz SM hair jigs are too small and craft hair doesn't appeal to bass as much as bucktail.

I can't tell you today where to buy a good hair jig. I will contact Siebert and offer my jig mold and jig samples to him to make if interested.

Thats been an excellent jig for me and really shines on the ledges

I just took a look at it and like the look of it a lot, thanks. I will be trying it out along with some others. 

Additional options are the strike king comeback jig, bass patrol western football, and outve production but still easily findable online- my personal all time favorite-  the booyah A-Jig due to its vertical line tie.

Cadman or small jaw may be a source if Mike isn’t.

I'd be in for a couple dozen to start if @Siebert Outdoors did this. 

Update on my hair jigs.

I sent Mike Siebert the photos and he would like to make them but doesn't tie hair jigs.
