What’s your favorite hair/preacher/bucktail jig?

Featured Replies

I live by a lake in PA that has big gizzard Shad and I’m thinking the offshore bucktails/preacher/hair jig I see the TVA fishermen using might be a great option when the bass move deep. What’s everyone’s favorite brand and size? Also, what material do you prefer? Maribou? Deer hair? Something else?

Bucktail hair. Malibou is a feather, not hair.

This one's been rockin all summer for me and my son.  It's a rabbit strip tail with Arctic fox tail hair tied at the collar.

That jig is killer for all species. Early spring when the leeches emerge from the mud it is an absolute killer on pike including many over 20lbs for me.

Greet pattern.  I tie the same, only I use yak hair instead of fox hair, and add crystal flash.  I use mine mostly for inshore fish. Yours look like awesome bass killers to me.
