i grew up listening to 80's metal, and 70's arena rock.  when i was a teenager,  one of my buddies was going through his parent's record collection.  we laughed at the cover, and some of the song titles, because of how not metal it was.  he put it on, as a joke. that's when the laughing stopped. you can't not like at least some of that record.  it's what caused us to listen to some of the other records they had, and turned us on to music we might not have given a chance.

Glad that album led you to these ladies and C&W music... I was a devoted Doo *** and Great American Songbook fan until I discovered C&W.  Now I like all of them equally.

Billy Strings is amazing, there are a lot of great videos on YouTube of his early stuff.

One of the legends of country music released this song in1971, I believe this clip is from 2009

This isnt classic country, but it actually shows that there’s hope for new country. It’s my new recent favorite.

 

I love Brooks and Dunn but Ronny Dunn made the band! Good tune here.

The only one have haven’t really been able to get into or maybe haven’t heard the right song is Coulter Wall. His songs are ok IMO but nothing I’m going to seek out at this point.
