And what famous actor/cowboy was in The Sons of Pioneers? ?

I am an outlaw fan. Ya know, Waylon Willie and the boys. I grew up with my family owning a few bars and I was raised on jukebox country music. I do however love the 90's country like Garth, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Dwight Yoakam etc.

Today's, well not so much. I do listen to Brad Paisley, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and a few others. But if a Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt or Florida Georgia Line song comes on.... Well I just wanna hurl! ?

He's right up there, front and center. Leonard Slye, AKA Roy Rogers.

My father worked Kansas, Arizona and New Mexico in the '20s. He married Mom in the '30s. So much of the music from those times stayed with him all his life, and I heard a lot of of the older stuff while I was growing up. It brings back memories.       jj

This is Bluegrass, so it’s close enough. For those of you who haven’t heard of the Steeldrivers, do you recognize that lead?

Love the steeldrivers . I shall let someone else answer the trivia as I have seen them play many times back when

Now we're talkin' !!

I just got the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Circle Be Unbroken Live concert CD.  Great stuff. Keep em' coming.

Patty Loveless' Mountain Soul is a must have album. It inspired me to make soup beans and cornbread last night. Even my Yankee girlfriend liked it.

Many of my family members and plenty of other families in the area survived for years and years on soup beans

That area extends all the way north to where I'm from in southeastern Ohio. I had miner's strawberries about once a week growing up.

Total class!

I know some may consider Ricky closer to Flatt and Scruggs than old Hank and George Jones, but if you have drums and a steel guitar, you're in C&W territory IMHO.

It was on country radio in the 80s, it's country to me.

My gpa was a coal miner in sw virginia. They had it hard but dad got out and got in with the railroad.
