I fish when it rains.  You'd be surprised how many recreational boaters avoid the lake when it rains or its at least cloudy out.  The fishing it often a lot better too.

Fishing in the rain is the best.  The fish aren't as spooky especially the bigger ones.  I think it makes the fish more predictable.  If you caught fish in certain spots the last time it rained at that lake, its likely that fish will return to the same spot the next time it rains.  It also keeps the majority of crowds down.

This thread is very relatable right now. Past couple coutings the bite has been horrible, always managed to get at least 1 fish though compared to my 3 to 5 limit at my ponds during the mid summer.

Yesterday started out decently then the fishing slowed down considerably .Sun  was bright ,zero wind . I doubled down on wood cover and caught my largest 6 fish limit of the year .

Wondering if I remember what a bite felt like :)

Scouting new spots holding more fish.

I'm usually just going to grind it out. I always assume the fish are somewhere I'm not or biting something I'm not throwing. When the bite is off, I'm trying new locations and new baits. That way, even if I'm not catching fish, I'm learning something.

I remember fishing all day tournaments with no breaks. I would never stop until the end.

Now, 4-6 hours is the best I can do while bass fishing. I still fish continuosly through the whole time. If you’re line ain’t in the water you aint catching any for sure!

I do change baits and locations when they stop biting.
My PB was caught fishing on a morning when it was the ONLY BITE I GOT. That still keeps me motivated to this day .

If the fish are not biting and one is just going through the motions , then one needs to take a break or something . Clear his head and get back in the game or call it quits.
