Any Auto Mechanics Here?

My daughter's Nissan Frontier's only has 1 windshield wiper working. Me thinks she tried to use it when it was iced up. Is this an easy fix that I could do or do you think it'll require more extensive work?

If it is indeed broke which is sounds like it might be from what I’ve researched it won’t be cheap and is a PITA to fix.

My wife had a Fusion and last winter I thought I broke one of hers because only one worked, so I started researching how to fix it. It turned out it was still frozen and a couple glasses of hot water cured it.

Gotta be careful using hot water on a frozen windshield...it can crack.

The wiper trans arm came off or the drive at that arm has stripped. Check has arm come loose, moves , etc.  One motor runs both arms. Last wiper trans [linkage] I replaced cost about 100.00 dollars for a ford at nappa.

If its anything like my Toyota, the arm was aluminum and the gear is steel. The gear stripped out the teeth on the arm. It was an easy fix replacing the arm.

So I am by all means not an auto mechanic, I'm in construction. Not that the information really matters here.

I took the cover off the end of the arm that conceals the bolt, put a 14 mm socket to it, I turn the bolt and the arm almost like reset itself in to a seat. Not sure if that's what's supposed to happen? A full turn and a little extra and she works again.

Thanks for the replies guys, really appreciate it.
