The United States Junior Hockey Team beat Team Canada for the world gold medal.  What a game!

Fun fact: I attended a tryout for Team USA prior to the 1984 Olympics. I was cut in 20 minutes!

Great job by the boys! I think they were tired of hearing about the great Canadian team with 9 first round draft picks on the roster. Canada had never trailed in the tournament and had not given up an even strength goal until the gold medal game.

I heard on the local sports radio station that it is considered a pretty big upset. I like the fact that we beat them at their game on their own soil too.

I’m just glad that it stayed in North America. At the end of the day we’re all one! Yeah it’s great that the USA won but, again at the end of the day were all one! Congrats to the players, congrats to Team USA, congrats to North America, and congrats to hockey! A sport I’ll always love. 

The sportsmanship of players from every control involved is to be an example for all sports.  The city of Edmonton hosted the tournament and again, did itself proud.
