So for bottom fishing in cold water I've usually used shaky, Ned and of course a jig. I'm looking for recommendations for plastics to fish in cold water on a Texas rig? Just want another option

Maybe some tubes. Overall maybe not as popular as years ago. Throw in some grubs also. Just ways I still fish. Even though not a lot of talk about it these days. 

Beaver style baits, not a lot of action but the glide usually sets the fish off in cold water!

Beavers with small appendages,

Rage Menace,

Zoom Speed Craws

Stick baits,

Trick worm

Single or double tail grubs,

Ha...I posted this then went downstairs and rigged up a tube! Came back up and the first suggestion is tubes.

Just such a good simple general bait in enough (so many) colors you’ll easily find a few that work good. 

Tubes, creature baits, plastic worms.  The same baits I use in summer.

A floating shaky head IMO has the subtle undulation so you don’t over-work it which is counterproductive in cold water. 

Floating worms shouldn't be overlooked. As the water warms, that surface layer will be warmer than the deeper water and the bass will use it, not just to absorb the warmth, but to forage. Zoom makes a floating TrickWorm that gets a lot of use up here after ice-out.

Years ago I read in a magazine that bass doubt strike soft plastics in colder water. Many people thought this, but it's not true. A small plastic worm fished super slowly has worked for me. It's slow going for sure.
