All of the above + add a package of MaxScent Lunch worms to your bait bag...

Rage Cut R falls apart too easily. I went through an entire bag yesterday. What’s a more durable alternative?

Define “ falls apart”.
I’ve been using them since they came out in 05 or 06 for almost every outing and have never had a problem.

Tail gets ripped off, primarily.

If you have toothy fish in your lake that could explain it from either them grabbing and ripping, or letting it sit on the bottom using braid with an excessive amount of slack.

I never seen or heard of them coming apart from just swimming and hooking up.

I just received a boxful of Rage Cut-R of both short (3 in) and larger version (7 in). Not sure how I'm going to use the shorter version although it's a Ned bait. The larger version looks large enough to go weightless. Well, I can't wait to try them tomorrow. I'd also like to thank my dog, Beck, for tipping me off when the box was delivered. It's never good when you have to explain....

No.

The bait is designed to be fished with a bullet weight to help enhance the tail action.

I let the bait settle to the bottom and use a steady retrieve. Tick the bottom and pop

it whenever you hit something.

Zoom Speed Worm is a confidence bait but the Gambler Burner Worm is a player, too.

Darn it, I was about to reply with the Gambler Burner, but you beat me to it. For some reason, I caught more on that than the Zoom and Rage.

I had no idea. Thank you, bossman!

@Eddie101, let us know how that 7" CutR works for you.  I'm a huge fan of the 6", but haven't had much luck with the longer one

I meant to buy 6" so obviously it was a mistake as I don't typically throw anything that bulky :(  Well, we'll find out of its capability soon enough! Stay tuned...

I don't know about the 7" Cut-R but the 6" is a really interesting bait fished weightless, and there isn't anything else quite like it.  The tail waves exactly like a baitfish tail fin on a horizontal fall, and they can be jerked or swum as well -- you can fish them as a stick worm, a soft jerkbait, and swimbait all in the same retrieve.

Never had any trouble with durability, except occasionally a very committed sunfish making off with the tail.

Do you use the NED version, and if you do, do you use it any different or non-conventional way?

Sweet, I was looking for some at bass pro yesterday. Shelves were bare. It was terrible. They didn’t have anything I went there for so I only spent $100. Lol.
