I got started in UL Spinfishing around 1962 in Monroe, NY and did a lot of pan fishing with Garcia-Mitchell 308 reels on Garcia-Conolon Blue and Gold UL rods.

Bought a super-smooth Daiwa SS-1 Reel and Fenwick 5'-6" rod in the mid '70's.

Moved to Florida in 1978 and stopped fishing due to overgrown vegetation at the water's edge.  The bushes were decorated with snagged fishing line, floats, bobbers and assorted tackle.

Still have all of my UL stuff, in great condition, and may get a light boat as I'm getting the itch to get back into fishing again.

I have much to learn about newer equipment and techniques to catch up.

Welcome aboard! ??

Those old Mitchell's were tanks! My Dad had a few back in the

day. I think it was one of those on a UL setup that I knocked off

the boat into the depths of Consesus Lake in the late 70's when

I was just a kid. :(  At least I'm still in his will, LOL. :D
