My TW order arrived today. I opened the box and lo and behold, the two packs of 5” #956 Senkos I ordered lost an inch. Knowing I was not at fault, I pulled up my TW receipt. Let’s just say I wasn’t wrong, but a little weak on being right lol. 

 

So, as it’s my error, I’ll make the best of it. I normally fish the 5” as either a wacky rig with a 1/0 circle octopus hook, or a weightless Texas rig with a 3/0 EWG. How do the 4” Senkos perform rigged like that or do I need different hooks for the weightless TR’s?  I believe the WR hooks are fine, but not sure what action is gained/lost being an inch shorter.

I can't decide, so we'll do buffet style...

b) Got one less inch than expected? Try working it more aggressively....

I fish 4 inch Yum dingers the same way I would fish a 5 inch

 

So your worm is an inch shorter than you thought? This one is just too easy to swing at so I will pass.?

 

For some reason I always catch bigger fish on the 4" Senko.

I fish 5" Senko's until they get torn up.  Then I fish a 4" Senko or 3.  They all fish fine on a 3/0.  They'll catch fish.  Toss em as usual.

I haven’t had any success on the drop shot in the ponds I fish. But I may try again. What hook do you recommend?

They're pretty great on a wacky rig. The shorter ends means they have a little tighter and faster shimmy.

Owner Jungle Wacky weedless hook size 1 for both 4” & 5” Senko. I like to wacky hook drop shot Senko using nothing heavier then 1/8 oz weight about 8” down.
