Quick-Attach line connecotrs

I really cannot stand those and find them very useless, for small line like 0.15mm (4lb line) they are close to useless, never hold weight tight enough and its pain to tie loops around them.

I just take a pliers to them to crimp them down a bit more for light lines...6# InvizX is also a bit thin for them straight out of the package.

I love them.  If one is faulty it is immediately realized when I try to cinch the line down. No big deal. Pinch it some more or tie a square knot down below.

what does suck is when the bail accidentally slams shut on the cast. The sinker shoots off towards the horizon.

Just tie a simple over hand knot on the end of the tag end leader. The line can slip up against the over hand knot and stop. If weight snags the leader breaks at the over hand knot , the purpose of the clip in the 1st place.

Oh i did not know purpose of it is to loose the weight, but keep the rest of the rig. I think though knot just untie itself not snag.

I still don't like the idea though, never had a sinker stuck at the bottom, hooks yes, sinker no.

They're typically used when fishing a drop shot where the weight is below the hook.

When you start fishing rocks you will experience  sinkers snagging .

I always tie them on.  Those weights get stuck or snagged in about 90% of the places I fish and once they are stuck, one hard pull without a knot and they're gone.

This is the way I do for line all the way down to 4lb Copolymer. Tie the knot under the sinker get more chance of loosing both weight and the rig. The way I do is to just clip the line until it snag tight, not all the way which will weaken the line a lot. I hardly got the weight pull itself loose when cast or snagged.

To OP, why do you use 4lb line? I use 4lb line for only panfish when dropshotting. I don’t use FC line either since I want the lure to have a little bit of buoyancy not drag down to bottom. This type clip would damage light line and FC more than any other techniques.
