The email you use for this forum

Is it current?  Are you SURE?  Better check now!

So many times people forget their password, and when they use the "forgot password" feature, it sends the confirmation link to the email you have in your account.  If it's not current, no email.

So then what?  Well, most folks hit the "contact us" link to tell me about the issue.  Problem is, all I get on my end is an email address to respond to.....the one in your account.  So there's nothing I can do to help you.

So you better be sure the email you're using is current.

To check, click the down arrow next to your name in the upper left, then click "settings".  You'll see what email address you have listed, and can update it there.

I'm good.

Thanks for the reminder

Thanks, I installed Linux on one of my disused machines and got a changed login notice from the site, that's much appreciated.

Found it....if you are on mobile version, go to top of page, click on the three lines icon top right.  From there, click 'Account' and then 'Account Settings'.

It's that time of year again when folks that haven't posted for awhile come back to the forums, forget their password, try to reset it, and then get all PO'd because they're not getting the confirmation email.

Why oh WHY am I not getting that email?!!!  You guys are all screwed up!!!  YOU have to help me!!

Guys....skip the frustration by checking the email associated with your account and ensure it's current - NOW!

Geeze....why don't people read this?

I get 2 dozen emails from the site a day so I know I’m good!

Now, don’t ask what my password is!

That's what a password-manager is for...then us old-farts don't have to remember our passwords.

I’m turned 40 last March and can’t remember most of my passwords either!

If it wasn’t for a password manager, I’d have little sticky notes all over the place. ?

Yep

I’m thinking the same thing!

I keep a sheet of paper under a calendar on my desk. Technology is great and I definitely benefit from it but this 68+ fart just refuses to let go of some things.

Hey guys - even if you are positive you've done this, check again please.  So many people are caught by surprise this time of year.

  • Super User

I think I'm still good - get regular e-mails from 'Mark', including one just last week.

Nope, that's for the newsletters.  Those are totally separate from the forums.  Same thing with contest emails.

None of these three are connected in any way:

  • Forums
  • Newsletters
  • Contests

It's very common for folks to receive newsletters and think their Forum login credentials are the same.  They're not.

Please check your forum profile information now to ensure everything is current.

Thanks!

Hmm - good to know, Glenn

But yes, checked...the e-mail I have for the forum is the same one.

Actually - anything fishing related (forums, YT, online purchasing, etc) all is under this one e-mail addy...reason I set it up. I have 3 main e-mails - Personal, Fishing, Modeling...and never the twain shall meet.

We're still getting folks having this issue.  Some are creating new profiles - that's not allowed and only creates even more issues.

Please check your profile NOW and ensure your email and password are current.

Thanks!

Modeling? So when will we see you in the Swim Suit issue of Sports Illustrated?  Oh...not THAT type of modeling, sorry.
