2023 B.A.S.S. Classic Going Back To Knoxville

Well the last one in Knoxville was the best Classic ever in my very humble opinion.

I'm sure it doesn't hurt that the parent company of B.A.S.S. is located in Knoxville

So Excited Reaction GIF

Heck yes! B.A.S.S. (the real Major League of Bass Fishing) bringing the Classic back to Knoxville!!! You better believe I'll be heading home for that one.

Edit, Got my room reserved!

For you guys who have never attended a Classic, please envy the Tennessee guys who will be going plus everyone else on the Forum who will attend.

I have attended two classics and they are fantastic. Nothing like them.

As you walk from exhibit to exhibit, you can rub shoulders with the old pros, new pros, and the pros inbetween. You can see and meet Glenn and his lovely wife; get autographs from the pros; and get a lot of freebies.

I  never made it to the blast offs or weigh-ins. Too many things to do and enjoy at the show.

And if Dick's is handing out their large green bags, get one or two as you will need them for the freebies and other things you can buy.

I attended the 2006 Classic on Lake Toho in Kissimmee.  It was a great experience. If you ever have a chance to attend a Classic, do it.  The vendor show is wonderful.  I met a number of famous pro anglers and got to trade a few stories with Ray Scott about his early tournaments.  One of the Florida guys we fished with back then, Johnny Adams, qualified for the first Classic but said he couldn't get off from work to fish it.  We both got a big laugh out of that.  ?

Yes!!!!!!!!!

It could be snowing and they could be spawning. Needless to say, I’ll be there!!! (I can walk from home to weigh ins haha)

And we have our insider!  Be sure to take lots of pictures!

Be interesting to see who does well this time.  Ott Defoe doesn’t even fish BASS anymore so someone else will have a shot!

gustafson won the last BASS event they had here, I guess it was 2020. Steve Kennedy made a charge to catch him but came up short

I’m gonna be retiring in a couple of months so I see no reason I can’t make the two hour drive to attend the 2023 Classic. Assuming I haven’t depleted my retirement savings by then.  ?

I live near Atlanta and have been to 3 of the last 4 classics (not Texas summer 2021).  I have taken my son out of school each Friday to join me for each of them.  It is fishing heaven.

Will be in Greensboro and now Knoxville again.

Sam's description is right on, though we've been to the weigh ins and blast offs and even to watch the guys come in at Green Pond Landing in SC.

For me, the gear is awesome.

But the people are the best part.  Most successful Pros are people people (not all but most) and they are great with the fans, especially kids.  In Anderson, we chatted with Aaron Martens as he waited for his turn to take his boat out (RIP Aaron).  In Birmingham, Jason Christie strolled up to us and stood beside my son ("hi guys, how are you doing? let's get a picture together").  Later in the evening, we watched the boats going into the arena.  While he waited to go in, we waved to Gussy and he hopped down off his boat to shake hands and talk fishing (not like he wasn't kind of busy!).  Fishing tends to attract good people.

I should add: it was so cold at the 2020 regular season elite event on day 2 that swindle said he was coming back up river to weigh in and passed two ducks chopping firewood……….

it was just 38-40 but pouring rain all day long made it fairly miserable
