Considering space limitations, why not consider upgrading an existing rod and sell your old one.  Not knowing the brands you own, maybe go to a high/higher end bottom contact rod.  Personally, if I had limitations on how much I carry, instead of looking for a niche rod, I would upgrade a rod for a technique I use frequently.  Just a thought.

How about a JDM rod?  Most exciting thing I've ever received in the mail....granted I'm a rod junkie.

I look for excuses to use my 100 calcuttas

It is just one...for your favorite presentation.  Imagine picking the butt length, action, rod length, power and such so it is perfect for how you want to use it.

And then imagine going back to your other rods that aren't quite as tuned for you?  Suddenly the butt catches your arm just a little more often or your hand doesn't feel quite right in that factory seat...  Its a slippery slope.  Maybe you can deal with it for a rod you only fish twice a year (your fifth favorite rod?).  But what about your second favorite that you're always picking up next?  I used to build a bunch of rods and at one time every rod I owned was custom.  Not saying one was is right or not but its kinda like going to high end reels.  Once you have one you need another one.

Oh, I know...but that being said it is the best money you can spend on a rod IMO.  Slippery slope indeed...

Yeah, that’s not for me at this time lol. Maybe something around $250 and change. A good, sensitive MHF no longer than 7’3” with split grips and cork and no micro guides.

You should definitely take a good look at the Cara finesse jig rod. From reading your posts that rod should be right up your ally, and right in that price point. Throw a currado 150 mgl on it. You’ll be one happy fella.

yeah the cara or the expert. And a chronarch mgl would also be a nice accompaniment.

I think that may fit the bill as far as the rod.
