What weather service do you use?

Featured Replies

Many if not most of these services get much of their weather data from the National Weather Service. For the Delta I'm mostly concerned about wind.

Which is why I just go right to the source. NWS is my first, last and only stop.

I use Weather Underground, I do however find it's wind predictions anything but accurate. For those who use Windy, are theirs any better?

I use the built in weather app on iPhone if I just want to know about the weather, it is by the weather channel.  If it involves fishing I also use a pro version of a solunar calendar.

I use a bunch.  In Oklahoma, the weather is notoriously hard to predict, so it's not at all uncommon to get three very different weather forecasts from three different sources.  And any one of them could be right, or none at all.  You won't know until it's over.  So I'll check out weather.com, my local news stations, NOAA, and an app I have called MyRadar, or various other sources just trying to get an idea of what might, or might not happen.

NWS, Fox Weather and one of our local stations. Normally the last thing I do before heading out is to turn on my weather alert radio and listen for the local forecast.

Weather forecasts again making me laugh today, they are such morons. Lady on the radio just said cold front. That’s literally what she said. My shirt is drenched with sweat at 9:30 am. She’s got a lot of nerve using the C word on todays forecast

Weather.com for the towns nearest to the lake I want to fish.

Hourly forecasts in particular are helpful in avoiding this month's numerous thunderstorms. I have been able to skirt them or get in a half-day fishing that otherwise I'd miss.

Whatever’s on my phone.

When fishing a tournament more than about 50 miles from home I access the local weather reporting agency.
Be it local radio or that areas county Emergency Services extension office.
