Been fishing at a crappy state park pond in southern WV and have been catching spawn color bluegills for the past 2 weeks and saw some on beds yesterday. Doesn't that seem awfully early? I didn't think they'd really get into things for another month or so. 

I guess that would depend on your latitude and water temps.

I noticed the same thing yesterday.

The bluegills and redbreast were already on the beds. 

I thought it was a bit early too. Spring seems to have accelerate this year.

Full moon in may is when they really crank up here.

It hasn't "happened" yet in my area. I would say in a week or so I should start seeing them on bed. Bed fishing for bluegill is one of my favorite kinds of fishing, especially when the big males are active.

I see lots of bluegills spawning in the Spring and Summer in South Florida. They might not grow as big as largemouth bass, but they are fun to catch. 

Too easy for me. Need to catch them in open waters after the spawn.  

Our Gobies & others will eat a nest clean in seconds if left unguarded.

The sunfish have been spawning here for at least a week now.  

The bream are spawning here in Central Ga. in our 80 degree water

Been fishing in West by God the whole month and Crappie bed 1st , then Bass, then blue gil.

They are on beds now here in central WV.

Same order here. Generally, the shellcrackers ( red ears ) start around the full moon in april. The bluegills and redbreasts in may, and september is the last month of them bedding. June - august are the best months.
