I'm curious about these. I've been looking for a smaller swim jig that will offer a more compact presentation as well as be able to swim 6 - 12" below the surface of the water and just above submergent grass...looking at the 3/16oz. version or a 1/4oz. Dirty Jigs Finesse Jig but haven't really used a bait caster to cast something this small/light. Any experiences with either bait and tips for how to cast something this light with a casting reel would be appreciated!

I've barely dipped into the DJ 1/4oz finesse jig, used it with a 3.8 keitech and 100mm d walker, on my jerkbait setup.  I was able to throw it well, but both those trailers have some weight. It definitely stayed higher in the water at a slower speed.  The fish liked it.

A 1/4oz jig with a 3.8 keitech will be plenty on a MH baitcaster and is a favorite for me.

Depending on your waters , bait fish , etc. I suggest one ea. in 1/4 oz.  : Black & Blue , Green Pumpkin and Shad / White colors to begin . I also added the 3/8th oz. size in Shad / White for either windy conditions OR if I want to speed up the retrieve for spotted bass .

I've been using the 5/16 oz version. Paired with a Missile Baits D Chunk, I have no problem keeping it high in the water column. And it casts just fine on casting gear.

The jig/trailer combo? I like it. Just been swimming it a little erratically. Some pops, pauses. So far, so good. Paint on the head chipped a little bit almost right away. Not sure if they're all like that or just the one I got. 

1/4 oz jig head and a plastic is more than enough for a MH baitcaster. I often cast flukes and senkos weightless on one no issue.

i throw the same combo on my 72 mh expride with 14 pound sunline. casts great and catches fish

The thing about these jigs is that they use finesse cut silicone. 

 

Here are some 3/16oz finesse jigs I made.

Check out Super K's swim jigs. They have a 1/4 oz. Their weed guards come perfectly trimmed out of the package and they're less stiff than most standard weed guards. Come throw cover well and hookup ratio is great. I love the Dirty Jigs finesse version as well.
