NEVER overlook a ramp.

I never pass up a ramp especially at night. If it has a light or two around it's mo better & I'll spend a little more time there. I have caught many 5 lb. + fish off them over the years. During the spawn make sure you check the shallow flats around them! Can you say Boogerman Buzzbait!

Boat launch ramps provide hard structure with a defined break. The hard surface usually will have some algae growth attracting baitfish, a dock to provide cover, washed out under cuts from prop wash, very good bass habitats.

There are public ramps and private ramps. Public ramps get restocked constantly by bass anglers releasing the catch or club tournaments releasing bass after weigh ins.

I always check out launch ramps because they concentrate both bass and bass prey.

The "blowout", hole at the bottom is often overlooked and almost always productive. When boats power onto their trailers, they "blow out", a big hole in the bottom sediment and pile up small rocks and other debris a short distance from the end of the ramp. Bass will prowl the ramps right after boats load also because the clouded water camoflages them and can blow craws and small baitfish loose from their hiding spots and disorient them. Never overlook that little loading dock either.
