I purchased some 4lb. Basix and put it on a little trout combo and I can say that this line is pretty darn manageable and seems to be a decent quality for the price I got it for online.  Does anyone have any experience with 12lb.+ on baitcasting gear and can offer any insight?  Thank you.

The thing I have noticed comparing line diameter vs test is BasIX is larger. At $10/200 yards give a try out.

Thanks Tom.  I typically use InvizX but figured this might be worth a try.  

I purchased the 10lb line. I’ve only used it a handful of hours with nothing caught but I will say it’s very manageable and my preferred knot (trilene) cinched down tight with 3 different lures. For what it’s worth I would purchase more as needed.

Well, I had some enjoyment today as I fished with my son.  I am a gear hound but simplicity is sometimes great.  I took out my cheapo (but I love it) Shakespeare Micro 7' L ($17) with a Max Z 20 reel (I got it new for like $24) and the 4lb. Basix fishing a Thomas Lures Eel (Chartreuse) at a local stream.  I ended up landing a 21 1/2" Golden Rainbow Trout and it was a blast.  The line was great, handled the fish just fine, and casts beautifully.  Definite confidence boost.

21.5” trout on 4 lb? Heck yeah man! That’s quite the battle. I’ve used the 6 lb seaguar basix  and like others posted , it is easy to work with and casts great

It was a blast!  In current it was even more intense.  I was impressed because I got the 200yd. spool for $7.49 shipped and this solidified me as a return customer.  My son was yelling and screaming and I was able to finesse it in for a couple of nice pictures/measurement before a swift release.

Got some 10# for some finesse casters today.  It was right next to vanish and was cheaper.  Fully stocked while the vanish was more picked through.  Let's hope this becomes the new budget flouro of choice.

I bought a 15 and 17 for fishing jigs.  It’s a little stiff but not bad.  The jury is still out.

Yep, not sure how the heavier lines will be but the 4 has been great.

Ive used the #6, 8, 10, and 15 this Spring and early Summer for leader material.  I will say that its a bit more abrasion resitant, and more friendly to knots than Top Knot.
