Civil.  i am in Construction so there is some remote work, but most of it is on a jobsite.  great question.

it's wild how everyone wants to work from home.  i like getting out of the house as much as possible.

My dad was a civil engineer, he used to drive me around when it was storming to see which manhole covers had water shooting out of them when I was a little kid haha. That was before the internet

I recently had a company approach me about throwing my hat in the ring for a construction manager position for them. Of course I was interested until I talked with them more about the job. I was absolutely grateful to the person who highly recommended me and extremely grateful for this company approaching me about it, but at the end of the day I let them know I wasn’t interested because this position was an office position. I need to be outside going to sites, getting my hands dirty.

They did let me know there’s a field engineer position on the horizon which is more up my alley.

I witnessed a manhole cover blowing out of the street in san francisco next to ocean beach during a day of heavy rain. I was driving around in my service truck and seen it blow like old faithfull the geyser. I woudnt want to be driving over it as it may kill you with that force.
