What size/color/blade combo spinnerbait do you find to be ideal for clear water fall river smallies?

That's what I use for lake smallies, usually high and fast in the water column.

You're right on it. I don't mind a gold blade either, as long as the other is silver. Take a look at the Screamin Eagle's in Aurora, Mouse and Silver shiner.

We have a Winner!!!  I have a 3700 Spinnerbait Box loaded with these for the Susky. The only color I would add is Watermelon Seed. The profile and weight of the Screaming Eagle helps keep it down in the current and helps it from blowing out while burning it. Brian.

I’m thinking silver double willow w a shad/mouse skirt in 1/2 or 3/8 but unsure if this is the ticket or not?

That will work.
