Deep Purple

anyone? the early 70's stuff is what i love.

as a guitar player, of course i dig ritchie blackmore's playing. i know what people say about his personality. i don't care, i don't want to be his friend, i just wanna listen to him play. these days he likes to do really boring stuff where everything sounds like greensleeves or something. i liked the old ritchie.

then there's jon lord. holy smokes. i know lots of folks who hate any kind of keyboard in a hard rock band.  i don't care what they say, because deep purple (and later dio) proved that to be a crock of poopy.  jon lord is  the pai mei of  the hammond. jon lord is so bad-@55, that rick wakeman probably mows his lawn.

Was a Big Deep Purple fan many years ago. Saw them along with Yurai Heap (sp) and Buddy Miles in Long Beach, CA.

I had several albums in the 70s . Shades of Deep purple ,Machine Head , In Rock , Fireball and Burn . Saw them a few years back in St Louis with Edgar winter and Alice Cooper . I consider Ian Gillan the greatest rock vocalist ever .

Actually, I like Blackmore's Night...it's another genre I enjoy listening to...and his wife Candice has a great voice.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane remembering when my parents let me have a high school party in the basement and me decorating everything with fluorescent paint and black lights everywhere.  Turntable in the corner blaring out LPs of Various artists including Deep Purple.

My favorite Deep Purple album is Fireball. I had it on an 8 track . When we were driving around , partying , Fireball was always a good time when I shoved  it in . Boys and Girls liked it .
