13 Fishing Concept C2

Featured Replies

I'm looking to add another good baitcaster to my lineup and considering a 13 Fishing Concept C2.  I recall seeing mention somewhere that the C2 has an audible drag, like a spinning reel but I can't find that detail again anywhere.  Can anyone confirm this?  And if you own one, how has the C2 been performing?

I have a couple of concept A's I purchased in 2014.  Been great.  A few months ago I thought I might add another A or Try a C.  Shopped around and read reviews.  Apparently 13 fishing has come out with their own version of ci4/zaion material called 'iron carbon'.  The concept A still uses an aluminum frame, but the C frame is made of the composite iron carbon material.  Reviews of the new C are mixed at best.  The A seems to still get good remarks, but it seems that 13 is trying to increase margins at the cost of quality.

If you want a 13 with drag-out alarm, then wait for the new Inception G2 to ship on Dec.1st. Gerald Swindle used the prototypes last season on the Elite tour. Aluminum frame.

I really like the discontinued Omen Black 2 7'3" MHF, so I'm giving the 7'4' MHF Meta casting rod a chance during the black Friday sale..

Which is a shame because the previous Concept C is an amazing reel. I've had one for about 5 years now and it's just great.

Yea...folks raved about the old C.  It's a shame...
