Gregorym38
Hey everyone, i currently go to school in glassboro, which is near the delaware river. I have heard of walley and snakeheads in the delaware river, but have yet to try it. I dont get much time to explore while in school, but im looking forward to trying it. I have never heard of or caught a walleye in the river, thought they were only in big lakes. Anyone have any tips? Dm me if you want, anything helps
Fallser
Can't help much with this. How familiar are you with the Delaware? There are walleyes in the Delaware but I've never heard of any being caught below Scudder's Falls which is above Trenton. Scudder's Falls separates the lower tidal Delaware from the middle and upper river. Generally, you would find them in the deeper channels or pools. Deep diving minnow or shad lures or jigs tipped with minnows, night crawlers or soft plastics bounced along the bottom. Snakeheads, again are in the river, but you are more likely to find them in the feeder creeks and streams that flow into the Delaware. Snakehead would prefer slower moving, marshy areas. Also, any creeks in the lower Delaware would be tidal. Access may be another issue.

I was hoping walleye would be further down, but ill target them eventually. I was thinking abt the feeder streams, i just dont have a kayak so its hard to find certain spots with good shore access
Craig P
I fish the Delaware for Walleye during the Winter from the Pa side. Above Washington’s Crossing and up. I use Jerk Baits and do pretty well with them.

Any recommendations on specific jerk baits?

Rapala X-Raps work well but I’ve used other jerk baits that are similar and have had success.

Just do the classic twitch twitch on slack line and pause 5-10 seconds. If they're there, they'll let you know.
Gregorym38
I have heard that the stretch from the water gap to milford beach has musky and walleye and is good thru the winter. How do i fish fof them? I am assuming deep diving crankbaits would work for both?
theTroutBoss
I believe they stocked muskies and walleye in the Cooper River. U can find stocking locations on state website.

I did catch some during the winter in Tullytown Cove which is in the tidal portion but again that was a long time ago. For those that don't know the tide line is at the Trenton Falls which is just below Scudders Falls.
YoTone
skip the walleye. Ive only seen them caught near the art museum in philly. Glassboro has tons of small bank fishing ponds.
Susky River Rat
I know the susky between October and around March its walleye time. After that they are non existent. It could be the same for the Delaware but, I am unsure.
