Crankbait Lost but not Found

Featured Replies

A few days ago, I accidentally ran across a Tactical Bassin' "review" of a small profile crankbait with a very long bill that ran extremely deep.  He was saying how it pushed the limits of small profile, deep diving.  I think it Matt Allen saying how they were discontinued at one point and now are back.  I've been through my history on my computer and can can't even find it there.

Anyway happen to run across this?

Thanks!

Don’t watch them that much, but historically, the Lure Jehnsen Hot Lip series set the bar for small ultra deep divers. They were designed by Tom Seward. Looks like the ‘Deep Secret’ might be their equivalent these days in the lineup. Just guessing that might be what they were talking about.

River2Sea Tatical Bassin DD Crank Bait was a hot item a few years ago.

Thanks! The Megabass Deep Six seems very similar.  It could be it.  Nice crankbait.

Yes.  I sort've "hooked into" that one as well.  The one I remember from the video I can't find wasn't one of these.  I checked the supply of the R2S CBs on TW.  There's a full supply of them. Does anyone use them anymore?

Thank you.

The Imakatsu Deep Impact sort of fits that description ... not extremely deep but deep for its size

Wow.  Neat-o!  I must not have checked the link when I replied to you before.  I don't know if it's the one, but it certainly sounds interesting.  Thanks again.

I still use the river2sea dd crank.  My lake gets so weedy, that cold water cranking when the weeds have died back is my best time to present a crank.  Over 3-ish years I've probably only caught 20-25 fish on it, but I think I've had 3-4 over 20".  Here's my best, 11/30/22, glass minnow, I'm guessing 23"ish.

Beautiful.  Weedy here too.  We're having some unusually mild weather this week.  If the ice skim melts on a couple of lakes, I wanted to dial in some cranks.  And maybe early spring.

Same here, hoping it breaks up today/tomorrow.  Tuesday high of 60!!!

Those mega bass Deep six and deep-x 300 cranks are worth every penny of thier price. Mega bass natural patterns can’t be beat in clear water. They work just as well in warmer water as cooler water.

I have also come to appreciate the Norman DD series over the last summer. they are affordable and they work.

those Damikies look good too.  I might have to get some of those soon

How is 3/4oz a small profile crank?

Of all the crankbaits listed so far, this is the smallest at 2.5" for 18+ft

Luhr Jensen made one called a Deep Secret that had a 2" body and 3" lip. I have a couple but can't remember using them.

I think I’ll try searching for that one on my Tactical Bassin subscription. Thanks. I’m not even sure about wanting the lure at this point; I just  want to find the blasted video.
